Contelori Palace

The building, clearly 17th-century in character, is characterised by the juxtaposition of two wings with symmetrical portals on either side of a taller main body with an imposing emblazoned portal leading into an internal courtyard.

The palace, built in the 17th century, belonged to the Contelori family.
One of the family members, Monsignor Felice Contelori, was the custodian of the Vatican Library, a distinguished historian and author of the Memorie della terra di Cesi (Memoirs of the land of Cesi), the major historical source of the town's events.

Until 1927, the palace was the municipal seat.

Thereafter, the old palace was converted, partly into a hostel and partly into holiday homes.
During renovation, the mechanical device that operated the public clock found on the palace façade since the second half of the 19th century, was removed.
