The fortifications of Cesi are a masterpiece of medieval military engineering, consisting of the Rocca (fortress) and a series of towers arranged along a wall that run east-west, between an altitude of 787 and 660 metres above sea level
This defensive system, perched on the rocky spur of the Rocchetta di Cesi, on top of Mount Aeolus, makes the most of the natural characteristics of the terrain, transforming an already naturally protected place into an impregnable fortress.
The conservative restoration and functional redevelopment project aims to breathe new life into these structures, consolidating their walls and giving them back the dignity they deserve.
However, it is not just about preserving the past: the work has made these places accessible and enjoyable, creating new paths and enhancing existing ones, so that this corner of green Umbria can be appreciated for its history and beauty.
